Developed by UDR, which acquired Lincoln at Towne Square apartments in 2004, Phase II was planned as a garden apartment community next to its sister property. Meeks + Partners planned and designed Phase I for Lincoln Property Co. Phase II offers 302 apartment homes on 10.65 acres, achieving a density of 28.35 units per acre. While Phase I features Georgian colonial architecture, Phase II was designed to reflect the American Arts and Crafts movement. All buildings incorporate period elements such as porch pillars that broaden at the base to break up the linear space, brackets under the roof and other wood details in building façades, patios and balcony railings. Integrated into Phase I’s site plan, the new community shares common amenities such as a town square with fountains, sidewalks, parks, barbecue grilling areas, tree-lined streets, lush landscaping, and a two-level community center and swimming pool area. One- two- and three-bedroom units range in size from 609 to 1,212 square feet and feature open floorplans with nine-foot ceilings. Other amenities include tile entries, Berber carpet, pendant lights in kitchens, island kitchens and breakfast bars, garden tubs and separate showers, walk-in closets, built-in computer desks and bay windows. The property offers private garages and surface parking.
