Currently under construction, this extraordinary master-planned residential community is situated on 90 acres at the western edge of the Summer Imperial Palace in Beijing, China. The project is the first major luxury residential project in the immediate area and consists of small clusters of buildings - each containing two to four residences - around numerous water features, lush courtyards, meandering paths and walkways. Majestic Mansion is being developed in four phases. Completed in December 2007, Phase I is set on 10.5 acres, encompassing seven buildings and 67 units ranging in size from 3,000 to 10,000 square feet. Upon completion, the development will constitute 467 units and include two country clubs: one that will cater for large public gatherings and the other, for the exclusive use of its residents. The larger clubhouse will encompass 100,000 square feet and include banquet, ballroom and meeting facilities, restaurants, various sports courts, an indoor/outdoor swimming pool as well as underground parking. Designed in a neo-classic style, the elevations include symmetrical shapes, tall columns that rise the full length of the building and friezes. Each building and more specifically, each floor plan, was custom-designed using the principles of Feng Shui, to ensure that the resident’s home is unique. Some are designed as flats while others have up to three stories. All homes include both a Chinese and an entertainment kitchen. Grand entries into each building create a sense of arrival as do rotundas and winding staircases. Every residential unit provides a main entrance as well as direct access to its homeowner from a private underground parking garage via elevator.
