Each building was designed to hide the garages in the alleys and to maximize a sense of place for each homeowner by providing front door visibility from streets and greenbelts. This was achieved by creating private internal motor courts behind the homes in the alleys accessible via private driveways.

The perimeter of the 200 homes is lined with front doors, porches, large windows, shutters, dormers, private terraces and balconies. The exterior designs utilize a variety of elevations and colors to invigorate the buildings. These distinct design elements create a community atmosphere and encourage social and pedestrian interaction.
